Mr. and Mrs. Chancla ‘Wright
will be honored with open
house celebrating their 30th
wedding anniversary May 31.
Calling hours will be 2 until
5 p.ni. in the Wright home that
la located five miles from Silo-
bee on the Spurger 'Highway.
They are parents of a daugh-
ter, Mrs. Elsie Jones of Vidor,
and a son, Kenneth Wright, of
Port Neches, who will be host-
ess and host for the occasion.
They have seven grandchildren
and six great grandchildren.

day, April 30, according to Fire
Chief Russell Busby.
The latest call came at 5 p.m.
April 30 when a Gulf States j
Utilities power line caught fire
near Flanakin’s Drive-In at the
Intersection of “Old” US 96 j
and FM 418. High winds knock-
ed lines down along US 991
around 3:35 p.m.; that and oth-
er failures caused power short-1
ages in the Silsbee area during |
Wednesday. An auto fire was f
reported at 9:30 p.m. April 28,1
near Smitty’s Supply on FM 92.
Busby said the vehicle was a
Volkswagen owned by Jesse
Jenkins.
Volunteers were called at
3:40 p.m. April 27, to wash oil
spilled by South-Hampton Oil
Co. trucks on FH 92; and on
