Read John 5:19-29
Verily, Verily, I say unto
you, He that heareth my
word, and believeth on Him
that sent me, hath everlasting
life, and shall not come into
condemnation hut is passed
from death unto life. (John
5:24)
A chief topic of concern
among the people of Jesus’ day
was the question of eternal life.
Jesic answered this concern
with the words of our text: "He
that henreth my word, and be-
licvcth on him that sent me,
hath everlasting life . .
When Jesus talked about be-
lief in God, He was not refer-
ring to the mere acceptance of
the fact of God’s existence. Re-
ligion for many really does not
go beyond this belief. That sort
of faith is at least something,
but it is not enough. Deeper
faith in God is a reality that
leads us to know and obey His
will.
Eternal life is the constant
partaking of that winch God
gave us in Christ Jesus. When
we are one with ('luut and
obedient to Him, His spirit is
expressed in us. As Paul said,
"I am crucified with Christ:
nevertheless I live; yet not I,
but Christ liveth in me.”
PRAYER: Blessed Father,
grant thal we may participate
in the life eli i rial whi* h Chi i I
offers US. Help US to believe in
lliitf as mir Savior and do Ills
will. We pray in His name.
Amen.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY;
Eternal life is a blessing, first
In this life and then in eternity.

Auslin — You have to know
more than how to bail1 a book
and how to set a line if you're
going trotlining in Texas,
There are several laws which
trotliners must observe. If they
don't, they are subject to fines.
And their trotlines can be con-
fiscated by game wardens.
The first thing trotlinprs must
know is that laws governing
their nctlvity vary from county
to county and from one body
of water to the next, so it is
imperative that they check their
hunting and fishing guide from
the Texas Parks and Wildlife
Department before they even
start making their, equipment.
Trotline laws regulate the
number of hooks and the
length of the trotline. A $1 trot-
linc tag is required for salt-
water lines and no artificial
baits will be allowed on salt-
water lines as of Sept. 1, 1974.
A trotline is defined as a
main fishing line constructed of
a non-metallic material.
In regulatory counties, the
following regulations apply
‘trotlines are lines with more
than five hooks and include
rubber band lines and sail lines,
all hooks at least three horizon-
tal feet apart. All freshwater
trotlines except in Kendall
County and non - regulatory
counties must be identified with
a legible tag, constructed of a
material as durable as the trot-
line, bearing the,name and ad-
dress of the fisherman and the
date it was set out. All trotlines
which remain in public waters
must be redated at the expira-
tion of each 90-day period. No
lines must be set in the vicin-
