Receives Award For
Interior Design
Renee Zoschke of Lumberton
received the Interior Design
Award for outstanding achieve-
ment with Fingers Annual
Interior design competition
1981-1982. The awards cere-
mony for certificate of merit
was held at Fingers on April 27.
The Home Economics teacher,
Mrs. Joan Griffith and princi-
pal, Dr. Betty lies, received a
plaque at the ceremony.
Each student entering is
required to prepare a poster
entry which illustrates her
ideas for a “dream room.” She
is allowed an imaginary $800
budget for all furnishings and
other items featured in the
room design and must include a
floor plan, color scheme, and
indications of furniture styles
as part of the poster presenta-
tion.
Student poster presentations
were judged by an independent
panel in the home furnishings
field. Prizes totaling $1400 are
awarded to first, second and
third place winners.
Renee was the only freshman
among the 18 chosen out of
approximately 300 partici-
pants. The contest was opened
to all high school students
between the ages of 13 and 19
and living within a 100 mile
radius of Beaumont.
A band student since sixth
grade, Renee plays flute. She
recently received a one rating
at UIL contest which will
