The Fir
The first series of the Leonardt-
Grander series was bowled last
night, the Grnaders downing the
Leonards good and hard in the first
game due to general good bowling.
They also won the second and
third games. The score in the last
two games were close, showing tlie
sides well matched. Chas. Gran-
der made three good scores which
helped his side to win out. Rad.
Nagel made a high ran in the last
game which ought to have won the
game bat it was an off night for
the Leonardts and they coaid not
win.

The man traveling with a coach
and four who passed through here
some two weeks ago, is not Dr.
Simmons at all, but a faker, who
is now in jail in Floresville on a
charge of swindling citizens of
Wilson ccnnty. It is stated in this
Express of today that the man pro-
fessed to be a “cure-all” physician,
and has swindled a number of peo-
ple in Karues and Wilson counties.
The Record was told that it was
