cession of the matter that the com-
missioners’ court when they acted
on the matter were trying to serve
the people of both precincts to the
benefit of all concerned and that as
the taxable valne of the old pre-
cinct No. 3 were entirely out of
proportion with the taxable values
of precenct No. 4; they were en-
deavoring to bring the two pre-
cincts more in conformity with
each other. Mr. Batman also dis-
cussed the matter in a very able
and conservative manner and sug-
gested that if the people of this
community would draw up a peti-
tion and get the same before the
people and have it numerously
signed, submit said petition to the
coaunfogioneTS* court at the Feb-
ruary term; that the court would
consider the matter diligently and
if at that time it should still be the
wish of the people to have the order
rescinded, they would take pleas-
ure in complying with that wish.
The following resolution was then
offered by Judge Chas. Mertins
and unanimously adopted: 1
Resolved, That it is the sense
of the meeting that the Hon. Com-
missioners’ court of DeWitt county
be petitioned to rescind its order
whereby a part of commissioners’
precinct No. 3 was transferred to
precinct No. 4. Upon motion, |
which was duly carried, the chair-

Meeting Saturday Night.
The prohibition rally at the
Baptist church Saturday night was
well attended. Twenty-minute
speeches were made by Rev. J. A.
Stephens of El Campo, Rev. T. O.
Sallee of Edna and Rev. T. M.
McNeely of Columbus. It was the
sense of the ministers present that
they would take an active part in
the fight for prohibition, using all
their energy and influence in that
cause.

was so weak and lame that I could
not lift the slightest object. There
were dull pains in the back of my
head and neck, accompanied by
extreme lameness across the kid-

considerable annoyance by irregu-

Upon learning of Doan’s Kidney

once. I was given prompt relief

decided benefit. . In my estimation
Doan’s Kidney Pills are a splendid
