—A man hunt in the rough coun-
try around the lower Medina lake
dam, near Redwing, ended Satur-
day with the capture of a sus-
pect want in connection with a
recent alleged $15,000 race horse
betting swindle in Corpus Christi.
City policemen, detectives, state
highway patrolmen, and other of-
ficers, with information that the
suspect was camping near Red-
wing, surrounded his supposed I
camp.
The suspect was there, accord-
ing to expectation, but he beat a
hasty retreat and disappeared in
the dense brush around the camp, i
After a lengthy search, the of- i
ficers finally located their man1
and took him into custody. He
surrendered without resistance.
The man was wanted in con- (
nection with a horse racing “sys- ,
tern” swindle which was recently I
carried out in Corpus Christi. !
Two other men are already held
in the case. !
MARRIED SATURDAY NIGHT
Mr. Donald Ralph and Mrs.
Fay Burgoin were married Sat-
urday evening at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Clarence Badt, with Rev.
Terry Wilson officiating. The
i home was beautifully decorated
with bouquets of snap dragons,
lilacs, Easter lilies and bridal
wreath. The bride wore and iv-
ory crepe gown, fashioned with a
cowl neck. Her flowers were a
Victorian bouquet of snap dragons
and lilies of the valley. Mrs.
Clarence Badt and W. G. Ralph,
brother of the groom, were the on-
ly attendants.
After the ceremony. Mr. and
Mrs. Badt entertained with an
elaborate buffet dinner. The
table was laid with an imported
lace cloth and decorated with a
silver bowl filled with a variety j
of flowers. Silver candelabra |
were placed on each side of the !
| bowl. The guests included Mr. i
I and Mrs. Ben Patrick. Mr. and
j Mrs. W. A. Phillips, Mr. and Mrs,
j Wilson Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Arn-
