Rains County Sheriff’s Dept. Report
by Rains County Sheriff David Traylor
The Rains County Sheriff’s
Office took the following reports
of activity for the time period of
June 14-19:
Reports
6-14: Public intoxication. Dep-
uties Kirby and Patterson were
dispatched to a location on FM
47S in reference to a male walk-
ing down the middle of the road.
After they arrived, they located a
male stumbling in a ditch. After
making contact with him, they
found him to be intoxicated and
took him into custody.
6-14: Domestic disturbance.
Deputy Patterson was dispatched
to a location on FM 47 in refer-
ence to a domestic assault. Pat-
terson met with a man who stated
that his wife threw a set of keys
at him causing injury. He stated
that he left but did not want
to file charges because his wife
was a diabetic, and he believed
her sugar level was high causing
her to be violent. Patterson then
went to the residence and called
EMS, which transported her to a
hospital.
6-15: Theft of property. Dep-
uty Wood responded to a call
from a residence on CR 3345
where the complainant told him
that her son had ridden her 1987
Honda 250 4-wheeler on July
14 and then parked it under the
carport between 2 golf carts. She
stated that on the morning of this
date, she noticed that the ATV
was missing and it did not appear
that either golf cart had been
touched.
6-15: Incident. Deputy Dick-
erson was called to the Sheriff’s
Office to conduct an intoxilizer
test on a female that an East
Tawakoni (ET) police officer
brought in because of suspected
DWI. After instructions were
read to her, she refused to take
the test by her actions and was
booked in by the ET officer.
6-15: Incident. Deputy Aly
was dispatched to a residence
on FM 2324 in reference to pos-
sible trespassing. After arriving,
Aly found a female at the resi-
dence. The complainant stated
that he owned the house and let
his grandson stay there, but the
grandson let the female come to
the residence even though the
grandfather had filed a trespass
notice against her. The case will
be forwarded to the county attor-
ney for review.
6-16: DWI. Deputy Aly was
dispatched to FM 515 in the
Hogansville area in reference to a
possible intoxicated driver. After
arriving, he located a vehicle that
matched the description given
and reported seeing it swerve on
the road. He stopped the driver
and after making contact, he con-
ducted several field sobriety tests
and took the driver into custody.
6-17: Burglary of a vehicle.
Deputy Kirby responded to a call
from a residence on CR 1533
where the complainant told him
that she parked her car on the
afternoon of Friday, June 14 and
on either Saturday or Sunday,
someone took a tom-tom from
inside.
6-18: Burglary of a vehicle.
Deputy Holt spoke with a man
who stated that he lived on CR
3367 and that sometime between
11:00 p.m. on the previous night
and 7:00 a.m. on the morning
of this date, someone entered
2 unlocked vehicles and took a
GPS and 2 cell phones from one
and medication from the other.
6-18: Incident. Deputy Hol-
comb was dispatched to a resi-
dence on N. 1st St. in Point
after receiving a call from Adult
Protective Services. Personnel
there told her that they received
a call from a woman who said
that her daughter turned off the
air conditioning and would not
turn it back on. Holcomb went
to the residence and talked to
the daughter who admitted that
she unplugged the unit. Holcomb
advised her to plug it in and turn
the unit back on.
6-18: Burglary of a vehicle.
Deputy Patterson talked to a man
on the phone who stated that he
lived on CR 3367 and sometime
during the previous night, some-
one entered his unlocked vehicle
and removed an MP3 player.
6-19: Theft of property. Depu-
ty Dickerson met with a man and
woman at the Sheriff’s Office
who stated that they were doing a
remodeling job in Point and some
of their tools were missing from
the site. They stated that they
suspected 2 of their employees
because they located some of the
items in a Greenville pawn shop
where they were shown a copy of
a pawn ticket, which was in the
name of one of the employees.
6-19: Disturbance. Deputy
Dickerson and Emory Police
Officer Rosson were dispatched
to a location on Hwy. 19N in
reference to a disturbance with
weapons. After arriving and
questioning 2 sets of people,
officers found no weapons and
determined that there had been
an ongoing dispute for a couple
of days. Statements were taken
from all involved and a follow-up
