POLITICAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Madison to file for Court at Law No. 2
Assistant County Attorney
Stu Madison has declared his in-
tention to run for Johnson Coun-
ty Court at Law No. 2 Judge. The
position is currently held by
Judge Jerry Webber who will be
retiring at the end of his term.
“Judge Webber is a beloved
community figure through-
out Johnson County, and will
leave big shoes to fill,” Madi-
son said. “I intend to run as a
Republican for his open seat
in 2014, in an effort to further
serve Johnson County and the
state of Texas.”
Madison is a 17-year veteran
of the county attorney’s office,
and has served as chief prosecu-
tor for the past 12 years. Head-
ing up both adult and juvenile
misdemeanor cases as well as ju-
venile felonies in County Courts
No. 1 and 2, Madison has pros-
ecuted more than 50,000 crimi-
nal cases in Johnson County.
“Johnson County is con-
tinuing to grow, and will have an
incredible impact on the justice
system. After 17 years of service
to the county, I want to continue
to make an impact - a posi-
tive one,” Madison said. “Qual-
ity communities experience
growth. While growth is good, it
does have some consequences,
one of which is a larger num-
ber of civil
and crimi-
nal cases
brought
before our
justice sys-
tem. I will
work as a
conserva-
tive Chris-
tian and a
public ser-
vant to ensure that the docket
stays clear for the public and to
provide an atmosphere of expe-
rience, fairness and honor for
the citizens of Johnson County.”
Madison has three times
been elected to the Cleburne
ISD board of trustees, and
served as CISD trustees presi-
dent for five years. He was
previously an adjunct profes-
sor of criminal justice for Hill
College, and also served for
six years as a judge for the
Johnson County Teen Court.
Madison has served as
a professional chair for the
United Way, and has been a
long time committee chair for
the Tour De Goatneck bike
ride. As an Eagle Scout and
the father of an Eagle Scout,
he has twice been a district
chair for the Boy Scouts of
America and continues to
serve as a district committee
member and table host.
“He is a professional with a
great deal of experience in trial
work,” said Dewey James, a
civic leader who expressed his
support for Madison. “He is
fair, a good listener and a work-
er that can carry a heavy load.”
Madison has been married
for 23 years to Casey Madison,
a member of Heritage Assembly
