Eastwood being sued
for financial support
LOS ANGELES (AP> — Tough-
guy actor Cluu Eastwood is being
sued for financial support by
actress-director Sondra Locke, who
said he persuaded her to undergo
two abortions and a tubal ligation
during their 10-year affair.
The Superior Court lawsuit filed
Wednesday alleged that in return
for acting virtually as Eastwood’s
wife the actor promised to support
Ms. Locke, 41, for life.
It also claimed Eastwood, 58,
bought two homes for his co-star in
such films as “Gauntlet” and “The
Outlaw Josey Wales,” but kicked
her and a pet parrot out of one on
April 10. The couple broke up in
December.
“Ms. Locke is focusing all of her
energies into directing her film
‘Impulse.’ This is obviously very
painful for her and because of this,
as well as on advice of counsel, she
will be unavailable for comment,"
said Chari otic Parker, her publicist,
who confirmed the suit had been
filed.
Eastwood did not return phone
calls to his Burbank office.
According to the lawsuit, the
former mayor of Camiel-By-The-
Sea in Monterey County arranged
for Ms. Locke to have two abor-
tions and asked her to have a tubal
ligation. Eastwood has a son and
daughter from a previous marriage.
“DifPrent Stokes”
kid an armed robber?
COMPTON C»lif (AP) — An
armed robbery charge has been
dropped against “Diff’rent
Strokes” star Todd Bridges.
Bridges’ preliminary hearing was
about to begin Tuesday when
Deputy District Attorney Robert
Gosney moved to dismiss the
charge.
“Some new information came in
that cast a serious doubt (on)
whether we had the right man,”
Gosney said.
He declined to describe the in-
formation, and said the charge may
be refiled against the 23-year-old
Bridges if the new evidence fails to
stand.
Investigators had said Bridges
took his BMW from a repair shop
at gunpoint Jan. 23 instead of
paying a $500 repair bill.
Bridges still faces an Attempted
murder charge for a Feb. 2 shooting
that stemmed from a dispute over
the car, authorities said.
Bridges for eight years played
the character Willis Jackson on
“Diff’rent Strokes” opposite co-
stars Gary Coleman and Conrad
Bain.
Jake “The Snake” beat

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A
professional wrestler known for

crawl over his opponents has been
arrested on charges that he punched
a man during an argument over
women.
Jake “The Snake" Roberts was •
arrested Monday night at the World
Wrestling Federation Big Double
Main Event at the Orlando Arena.
Police officers watched Roberts
beat up Ted “The Million-Dollar
Man” DiBia.se, and then arrested
the 6 foot-5, 249-pound Roberts on
charges that he punched a 5-foot-7
Daytona Beach man last December.
Roberts, 43, was booked on an

charging him with aggravated bat-
tery. He was released about an hour
later on $2,500 bond.
Domino's Pizza store
helps troubled kids
LANSING, Mich (AP) —
Domino’s Pizza owner Tom
Monaghan is opening his pizzerias
in Michigan to runaways in a pro-
gram he hopes will help troubled
youngsters.
“I really didn’t have a home to
run away from. It was certainly a
period when I floundered a lot,”
said Monaghan, an orphan.
Monaghan announced Project
Safe Place on Tuesday.
Under the guidelines, youngsters
will be able to walk into any of the
195 Domino’s stores displaying a
Project Safe Place sign and ask for
help. A store employee then will
put the youngster in touch with a
shelter or the statewide toll-free
hotline for runaways.
Sen. Dodd settling
down from wild days
WASHINGTON (AP) — Will
the real Sen. Christopher J. Dodd
please stand up?
The Connecticut Democrat was
identified as’ a “bachelor party
animal” by Newsweek in a feature
last week called “Faces on the Cap
itol Campus.”
But The Washingtonian
magazine hinted the 44-year-old
divorced senator may be trying to
live down his high-profile life on
the social scene.
“Senator Chris Dodd ... may be
settling down with a nice Mormon
woman. He’s even met her folks
back in Utah,” the magazine repor-
ted.
“He has been steady of habits
more than a bachelor party animal
if he ever was one,” his spokesman
Jason Isaacson said.
The Washingtonian report was
“closer to reality” than Newsweek,
Isaacson said, but he declined to
discuss the reports about the
woman.
