The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. B.A. Lyle of
Sulphur Springs. The groom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby
Bettes of Cooper.
Wearing a formal white gown
fashioned in Chantilly lace the
bride was given in marriage by
her father. The bodice featured
a high neckline, sheer yoke and
Victorian ruffle with capelet
sleeves and a fitted waistline
accented with satin ribbon. The
pleated skirt was designed with
a flounce and a watteau train of
Chantilly lace. She carried a
spring bouquet of daisies,
carnations and roses.
Accenting the bridal attire,
the bride wore a cameo that has
been worn by three generations
of her family. The bridal
costume was topped by a
Colonial picture hat of white
■Chantilly lace.
The bride’s only attendant
was her sister, Susan Un-
derwood of Sulphur Springs who
served as maid of honor. She
wore a floor length quiana gown
of mint green and carried a
bouquet of daisies and car-
nations.
The bridegroom was attended
by his brother and best man,
Tony Bettes of Cooper. Ushers
for the ceremony were Jerry
Miller of Sulphur Springs and
Wesley Romans of Commerce.
Music for the ceremony was
by Buck Booker and Ronny
Lyle.
A reception in the Booker
home followed the ceremony. .

illusion edged in lace that was
attached to a crown of seed
pearls. Her gown featured a
Queen Ann neckline imbedded
with seed parls and the bodice
was covered with imported
Venice lace.
The empire apron skirt of
imported Venice lace and silk
organza flowed into the chapel
train. The front of the gown was
done in^wide crystal pleating.
The long silk organza sleeves
covered Venice lace cap sleeves
and ended in wide lace and seed
pearl bands at the wrist. She
carried a bouquet in shades of
blue silk daisies, roses and
baby’s breath with blue and
white streamers.
The bride’s attendants wore
gowns of blue organza, trim-
med in white lace. Each carried
a single stem rose with daisies
and baby’s breath in shades of
blue with flowing blue and white
streamers.
The maid of honor was Sheila
Lynn Howard of Cleveland,
Tex. and bridesmaids
Stephanie Connally of Dallas
and Karen Porter of Houston.
Flower girl was Candice Porter
of Houston. Ring bearer was
Jeremy Smith of Sulphur
Springs.
The bridegroom was attended
by best man, Cornell Porter of
Houston and groomsmen,
Walter Brown, Jr. of Houston
and Tommy Clayton of Sulphur
registry.
The bride is a graduate of
Sulphur Springs High School
and the University of Houston.
Gaines is a graduate of Texas
Southern University. The
couple will make their home in
Houston.

Chapel Site Of Wedding
The Spence Chapel of the
First Baptist Church was the
scene of the wedding of Susan
Kay Laminack and Bobby
Wayne Neal on June 21 at 7:30
p.m. Dr. Jack Robbins of-
ficiated the doubfe-ring
ceremony.
The former Miss Laminack is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
M.B. Laminack of Baytown.
Neal is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
J.C. Neal of Dike.
The bride was given in
marriage by her fattier. She
wore a gown of white Chantilly
lace with empire waistline that
fell into three wide tiers at the
hemline. The back of the lace
skirt flowed gently under the
chapel length veil of illusion
was edged in matching lace and
was caught to the lace cap. The
lace scalloped Sabrina neckline
and three-quarter lace cape
sleeves were accented with
seed pearls and iridescents. She
provided by Jesse Clayton. A
reception hosted by Ann
Wright, Dendra Dial and Jan
Robertson took place in the
Morning Chapel Fellowship
Hall after the ceremony.

white daisies and yellow roses.
Each of the bride’s attendants
is from Sulphur Springs. Maid
of honqr was Carie Mohnssen
and bridesmaids were Teresa
Moon and Jayme Morgan. The
attendants wore long yellow
quiana gowns. The costumes
featured cream crepe capes
decorated with tiny flowers.
Flower girl was Frances Bell.
Neal was attended by best
man Mark Bassham of Dike.
The groomsmen were Ken
Laminack and Chuck Laminack
of Baytown. Ushers wer Gary
Moon and Charles Ray Harred
of Sulphur Springs. Ring bearer
was Grant Hodges of Mansfield.
The wedding music, “Song of
Ruth” was sung by April Lynch
and Lisa Fox. The “Wedding
Song” was sung by Lydia
Wallace.
The reception took place in
the church. Members of the
houseparty were Susan
Reynolds, Kim Bassham, Lydia
Wallace, Ang Osbon, Themesa
Harred and Susan West
presided at the registry.
The bride is a graduate of
Sulphur Springs High School
and works at Sulphur Springs
Floral. Neal is a graduate of
Sulphur Bluff High School and
works at N & V International
Farm in Sulphur Bluff.
Following a wedding trip to
Greenville the couple will make
their home in Sulphur Springs.
Melissa Payne and Robert L.
Anz Jr. were united in marriage
at 2 p.m. on June 28 in the
Hillcrest Baptist Church in
Waco. The wedding rites were
conducted by Reverends Ellis
Morrison and Howard Wible,
Jr., pastor and assistant pastor
of the church.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Payne of
Sulphur Springs. Parents of the
bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs.
Robert L. Anz Sr. of Sweet-
water, Tex.
Escorted to the altar by her
father, the bride wore a formal
gown of ivory silk organza
styled in an empire silhouette.
The molded bodice featured a
sheer crescent yolk shadowed
with re-emboridered Alecon
lace. An" English net overlay
with Alecon lace formed the
Empress neckline and the cap
sleeves. The A-line skirt, with
vertical rows of lace motifs, fell
to slipper level in front and
circled to a chapel train.
Complimenting the gown was
a derby hat overlayed in lace.
Pearls and veiling framed the
brim while silk flowers and
satin ribbon streamers fell to
the back. She carried a cascade
of cream-colored roses,
stephanotis and baby’s breath.
Serving as maton of honor
was the sister of the bride, Mrs.
Noel Quinn of Sumter, S.C.
Other attendants were Mrs.
Darrel Stanton of Sulphur
Springs, also sister of the bride,
Susan Collier and Barbara
Sanders, both of Waco. The
attendants wore formal gowns
of buttercup yellow silesta
chiffon with capelets of border
print coming to a deep ‘V’ in the
back. They carried natural
stem bouquets of coral sonia
roses, white cushion mums and
baby’s breath.
Flower girl Patricia Anz,
niece of the bridegroom,
scattered coral rose petals
preceding the entrance of the
bride.
The groomsmen were Walton
Strickland, best man, Danny
White, Mark Wible and
Brackston Scott, all of Waco.
Ushers were David Payne of
Houston, brother of the bride
and Tom O’Leary of Waco.
Instrumental wedding music
was by Bailey Dickerson HI at
the organ and Holly Utt at the
piano. Pre-ceremony vocal
numbers were “I Am A Rock”
sung by sisters Krissy and Holly
Utt to the accompaniment of the
guitar by Krissy and flute by
Becky Collins.
Following the ceremony the
bride’s parents hosted a
reception in the Fellowship Hall
of the church. The bride’s table
was covered with a sheer pale
yellow cloth and was accented
with a floral arrangement of
yellow, creamy white and coral.
A three-tiered cake topped with
natural flowers completed the
table.
Chocolate cake and punch
were served at the groom’s
table which was covered with a
coral cloth and featured brass
appointments and a floral
arrangement.
Members of the houseparty
were Sarah Brodie, Martha
Anderson, Krissy Utt and
Becky Collins, all of Waco. Rice
bags were passed by Molly and
Courtney, daughters of Mr. and
Mrs. Tom O’Leary of Waco.

Nick’s Greek Restaurant in
Waco on the eve of the wedding.
The new Mrs. Anz is a
graduate of Baylor University
and is employed by MHMR. Anz
is attending Baylor University
and is self-employed in Waco.
Following a wedding trip to
Colorado, the couple will make
their home in Waco.

MOUNT VERNON. N Y.
— Fourth grade children here at
Lincoln Elementary School
learned about other towns with
the same name as their own
Mount Vernon.
They found 18 Mount Ver-
nons in the U.S. and wrote let-
ters to all. Sixteen responded
with- brochures, photos,
souvenirs and personal letters.
The smallest was Mount Ver-
non, Ark., with 132 people. The
largest was the students' own
city, with 77,535 persons. All
but two of the children in the
class said their own Mount Ver-
non was where they want to
live.
Golden celebration
Howell and Geraldine Emerson of Dike celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary on June 21 in the home ol their daughter
Mrs. J.J. Jones Sr. of Yantis. Mona George of Dike and Rocky
Emerson of Idabel, Ok la. also helped celebrate their parents
anniversary. There were 30 guests in attendance to honor the
couple.
