There will be a CPR class offered
Monday and Tuesday, September 20th
and 21st, at the First Baptist Church in
Archer City. The class will be held in
the Fellowship Hall beginning at 7 p.m.
each evening. Cost for the class will be

Hamptons Hold 25th
Family Reunion
The descendants of Jonathan L. and
Elizabeth Webb Hampton held their
25th consecutive family reunion in the
civic center in Olney September 12,
1993.
O.V. and Bettie Hampton were coordi-
nators for the 24th year. (The first reun-
ion was held in Megargel on September
26,1969 in the home of the late Florence
Hampton.) The other twenty four reun-
ions have been held in Olney.
A drawing was held giving away three
pictures of last year’s reunion. The three
that won were Mrs. lone Harwell and
Dennis Jaques of Olney and W.D.
Hampton of Abilene.
One birth was reported for the past
year, Hanna Green, bom April 20,1993.
She is the daughter of Angela and Joey
Green, and the granddaughter of Dena
Damron.
The next reunion is to be held the
second Sunday of September, 1994 and
is to be coordinated by Bobbie and
Carrie Jaques and Dennis Jaques.
After a prayer by Lily Wineinger, a
delicious meal was served to 45 Hamp-
ton descendants and their friends. Those
attending from out of state were John
and Francis Hampton from Oklahoma
and Jack and Mabel Dyer from Logan,
New Mexico. Others attending from
Texas were: Delores, Billy and
Christine Marshall; Mabel Thomas;
Orville, Rhea, Tiffany, Kellie and Be-
thany Wineinger; Lily Wineinger and
Janette Hoover from Wichita Falls;
Gladys Whisnand from Iowa Park;
Wynema Taggart, Dina Hillard and
Beatrice Davey from Burkbumett; J.B.
Hampton came from Alvoid and Carl
Wayne Hampton from Fort Worth;
Terry, Belinda, Jason and Neal Bench;
Dona, Samantha and Linda Jo Hamp-
ton; and Ann Perkins from Seymour.
Robin, Brown, Russell Fietz, lone
Harwell, Iru Routon, Dennis Jaques,
Bobby and Carrie Jaques, Dennis
Logan, Richard Perkins and Roger and
Vesta Porter all came from Olney. D.W.
Hampton came from Abilene; Shirly
Kinsey from Archer City; O.V., Bettie
and Riley Hampton came from
Megargel.
Local Cancer Society
Volunteers Honored
At the American Cancer Society dis-
trict 13 annual meeting in Wichita Falls
recently, two local volunteers were
honored with the outstanding volunteer
award. Pauline Patrick and Glenda Mar-
tin were recognized for their dedication
and commitment to the American Can-
cer Society and its programs. Patrick
served as secretary for the local board
for 10 years and Martin served as direc-
tor for eight years and was Crusade
chairman this year.
