FARWELL SENIORS
BY MALENA MARTIN
In a very short while you
will graduate from Archer City
High School. You will step out
into the life for which you have
been preparing yourselves for
the past twelve years. You are
leaving high school for a life
with more responsibilities, but
a more exciting life, too. You
are taking with you memories of
high school.
Each of you has a goal toward
which you are working, You have
set high goals, In your class are
some of the outstanding athletes
and musicians in the state. All
of you have been friends with
whom we have enjoyed associating
through the years. Archer City
High School is proud of each of
you.
Certainly not all of you will
be famous or great; perhaps only
a few. But it is our hope for
you that each attains, his ulti-
mate goal in life.
You are not the last class
who will graduate from Archer
City High School, and you are not
exceptional, The junior class
will take your place next , year.
We can only say that you have
made school life fuller and more
pleasant for us, and we want to
say "thanks”, and wish all of
you the success that, you deserve.
The Senior Class was honored
with a ’’Country School” party
given by the Methodist Church on
Thursday April 26. Answering
the roll of such names as "Gor-
geous Womanhater” (Gary Wright),
’’Been Losing Weight77* (Bennie Lou
Williams'), and’^Lovers Joy” (Lani
Jeter), were sisteen of the mean-
est kids in this schodL district.
The girls wore short skirts
and the boys wore short pants.
They had alphebet lessons, sing-
ing, arithmetic, and a talent
show. The students (?) were sen
ved box lunches and punch and
then they gathered around the
piano and ended their school day
with a sing-song.
Mrs. Beard: ”What is the
meaning of cubic?”
Gary: r ”Cubic is the lan-
guage in Cuba.”
A PEEK INTO THE
CRYSTAL BALL
We looked in to the future
Just to see what kind of fix
The fates were cooking up
For the "Class of ’56."
Old Guy was quite a hero
An athletic over-all
But now he’s at the drugstore
^Tust a-selling "Hadacol.”
Fire chief Gary didn’t know
He was aiming at that goal
But now he srends most all his
t ime
On that old fireman’s pole.
Phyllis had it coming
When she joined the "FHA”
Now she’s president, in good
standing,
Of Homemakers of Today.
We knew that Jane would win her
way
When she joined the Wildcat Band
Now s he’s chief cymb a1 eras ho r
And heard through out the land.
Robert was a whiz
When he guarded our third base,
So now among the Dodgers
He proudly takes his place.
And then at Johnnie Sue
I wish you’d take a look
’’The Alsup Beanry”
Claims her as their chief cook.
Gwen didn’t wait for Lani
She went on her merry way
And now she’s tennis Champion
O’qr all the U. S. A.
But Lani’s mind was occupied
With the finer things of life
She’s busy making someone
A questionsIbe young wife.
Be-Bo’s fate it seems to us
Is really quite a joke
She’s married to Gene Autry
And’s now a fine cowpoke.
We thought that Martha’s future
Was mapped out fairly well
But now as strict old schoolmarm
She rings the tardy boll.
Yvonne with all her oratory
Was certainly not the worst
For now she’s in the White House
As woman president, the first,
