The first day of the pre-Easter
revival meetings being conducted
at First Christian Church saw two
splendid audiences attending. The
morning audience was the largest
in some weeks. The sermon on
The Authority of the Scriptures
was well received. The evening
service was attended by a large
crowd and the Junior Choir ap-
peared at its best both in the con-
gregational singing and the spe-
cial number which they rendered.
The sermon on the subject, The
Tragedy of a pivided Church,
drew much favorable comment,
The pastor. E. W. Martin, stated
that there is no religious com-
munion in the world today quali-
fied either with spiritual or mora!
strength to do the full work of
preaching and making effective
the message of the Christian gos-
pel. Divisions and sub-divisions
within the church groups’ render
their effectiveness practically use-
less and the world turmoil today
can he traced largely to a lethar-
gic attitude toward the world's
need; and the way out which the
Christian message presents is not
being considered seriously enough
by clashing groups of denominal-
ism to impress the world with its
power to transform men’s minds
to the peaceful solutioh of human
misunderstandings. The subject
tonight will be, "Steps Into The
Church.” The preacher will show
that there is just one way to be-
come a Christian and two ways to j —-................
be born into the Kingdom. The j Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Turner
