Mrs. Howard Jumper, recent
bride, was named honoree at an
afternoon tea and shower Satur-
day at the home of Mrs. R. M.(
Arthur. The bride is the former
Mary Branum, daughter of Mr,;
and Mrs. Jeff Branum, of Sal-
tillo. Mr. Jumper is a senior
student of ETSTC. The couple
will reside in Dallas for the Bum-
mer.
The First Baptist Church was
repaired during the past week. A
new roof was added and other
improvements were made.

Dr. Mjrko is a Christian Jew
who completed his MD degree In
Vienna. Austria, attended South-
western seminary at Ft. Worth,
and is a missionary of the Amer-
ican Board of Mission to the
Jew*.

Fort Hood —Sgt. John L. Rose,
son of Mrs. Sallie Thomas, 400
Carter St., Sulphur Springs, is a
member of the unit recently nam-
ed the 4th Armored Division’s
Company of t h e Month at Fort
Hood.
Sergeant Rose is a cook in the
division's 404th Military Police
Company.
The sergeant entered the Army
in .November 1950 and completed
basic training at Fort Bliss, Tex.
He was staCioned in Japan before
arriving for duty at Fort Hood.
Sergeant Rose is a 1946 gradu-
ate of Douglas High School.
