9-Day Strike
Of Workers Ends
Dallas, Sept. 4 IP — Two hun-
dred asbestos workers in the Dal-
las-Fort Worth and Shreveport
areas return to their jobs today
after a 9-day strike.
A tentative settlement was
reached yesterday between the
Asbestos Workers Local 21 and
the Texas - Louisiana • Arkansas
Master Insulators Association. It
would provide an immediate pay
increase of 17 1/2 cents an hour
for mechanics. Helpers get vary-
ing percentages of the mechanics’
