Concern is being expressed in
Waltham jover the whereabout® of
Mrs. Aiko Taylor, Japanese wife
of the late Karl Taylor; his di-
vorced wife, Edith, and the two
Taylor children. Mrs. Aiko Taylor
arrived by plane in New York last
night to be met by Mrs. Edith
Taylor, who has been caring for
the children. Mrs. Edith Taylor
was quoted as saying the children
were at home in Waltham, and
that she and Mrs- Aiko Taylor
planned to drive directly to there.
A friend at the Taylor home in
Waltham disclosed this morning,
however, that the children left
Waltham yesterday with Mrs. Ed-
ith Taylor and their present
whereabouts are not know n.
Normally she drive to. Waltham
from New York would take only
4 to 5 hours.

tor Ralph Yarborough told the
S e n ate President Eisenhower
should sign the pending postal
wage increase bill if it is sent to
him by congress.
The junior Tcaxs senator made
reference to forecasts the Presi-
dent might veto such a bill.
Yarborough is a member of the
Senate Post Office and Civil
Service Committee.

uncle of Mrs. Johnnie Digger-
stuff of Sulphur Springs, died at
his home Monday. Funeral ser-
vices aie to be held in Shriby
Wednesday.
He was the father of General
Frank Gregory of Washington,
D. C., Lewis Gregory of Shreve-
poit and Owen Gregory of Jack-
soil, Miss., all of whom have
many friends in Sulphur Springs,
where they have visited with
their cousin, Mrs. Biggcrstuff,
and family many times.

In Collision
Amarillo, Aug. 6 OP — A 16-
year-old Abilene youth was killed
when the car in which he was rid-
ing collided with another in an
Amarillo residential area.
He was Charles Richard Mar-
shall, who was visiting an aunt in
Amarillo.
Hospitalized with minor injur-
ies were 14-year-old Diana Davis
of' Roswell, New Mexico, and 14-
year-old Nancy Janies of Amaril-
lo. They were passengers in the
same car with Marshall.
Driver of the 2nd car, 31-year-
old R F. Bird of Amarilo, suf-
fered minor lacerations.

Seattle (PI — A burglar drew a
prison term here for taking $204,
a pistol and a blackjack from a
tavern. The establishment was
the Don’t Argue Tavern.

In Bell County
Temple, Aug. 6 IPI—An appli-
cation to circulate a piFtltlbh call-
ing for an election to legalize
sale of beer in all of Bell County
has been filed w ith. the county
clerk.
The application, signed by 16
persons, usk® for 350 petitions
dated August 8th to be issued.
From, that date, the group will
have 80 days to obtain 3,352 sig-
natures of qualified voters- The
petition then would be presented
to the county commissioners in
ordeh to have the election called.
Temple is the only city where sale
of beer is legal in Bell County.
Pocket mice that live in the
pure-white gypsum erystal dunes
near Alamogordo^ New Mexico
are pure white in color. Mice of
the same species, who live out-
side the dunes sis still brown.
Houston, Aug. 6 <Pi—An autop-
sy has been ordered to determine
the reason for the death of a 42-
year-old Houston bridegroom who
died the day after his wedding.
He is Truman Clark who was
married Saturday to the former
Miss Marjorie Christian. After a
wedding trip to Galveston, the
couple returned to Clark's apart-
ment yesterday afternoon. He was
striekeh by a sudden illness and
died at 7:50 p. m.
The Spanish village of' Lliva
is located in France. A private
road connects it with its mother
country.
TRANSFER? — Karl Rankin,
U. S. ambassador to National
ist China, reportedly will be
transferred to another post this
September. Rankin. 59, has
been envoy to the Chiang Kai-
shek government in Taipei,
Formosa, for nearly seven
years. He became ambassador
in 1953. Last year he came
under congressional fire when
two senators accused him of
“aiding and abetting” Chiang's
desire to attack the China
mainland. (NEA).
