Mr. & Mrs. Don Lucy
Mr. and Mrs. Don Lucy
of Holliday celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary with a
cruise to Cozumel and
Progresso, Mexico on January
26-31. Mr. Lucy, a native of the
Valley View area, and Mrs.
Lucy, a native of Electra, were
married on January 26, 1957 in
Electra, Texas. Mr. Lucy retired
in 1996 from Holliday ISD af-
ter 21 years of coaching and
teaching. He enjoys playing golf
and watching his grandson play
ball. Mrs. Lucy retired in 1994
from Holliday ISD after 19 years
of teaching. She enjoys acting
at Backdoor Theatre and is a
member of the 20th Century
Book Club. The couple has three
children: Barry Lucy and wife
Jon Ann of Ruidoso, New
Mexico; Steve Lucy of
Holliday; and Kristi Lawson
and husband Barry of Holliday.
They have three grandsons;
Sean Lucy of Portland, Oregon;
and Trey and Tye Lawson of
Holliday.
Scholarship Application Deadline
at VC is April 1
The 2007-2008 Vernon
College Scholarship applications
are due in the Financial Aid Of-
fice on the Vernon campus April
1. Vernon College offers approxi-
mately 200 scholarships for $500
and $1,000 that are awarded an-
nually to students who are plan-
ning to attend or are attending
Vernon College. Applications
must be filled out, postmarked or
in the Financial Aid office by
April 1 for consideration.
To be considered for a
$500 and $1,000 scholarship,
applicants must attach their most
recent transcript separate from
the transcript sent to Admissions,
have a 3.0 GPA, be a full-time
student (12 hours or more), and
provide a list of their achieve-
ments.
To be considered for a
$1,000 scholarship, the student
must be a full-time returning
Vernon College student and will-
ing to work with the college
foundation during the year.
After the Vernon College
Scholarship Committee meets,
scholarship recipients will be
announced by the Vernon Col-
lege President, Dr. Steve Thomas
in a letter to the recipient.

SAN ANTONIO - The
deadline for the Catholic Life
Insurance poster contest to com-
memorate the 230th birthday of
our nation’s flag is April 16,
2007. The theme of this year’s
contest is: “What Freedom
Means to Me.”
“Catholic Life sponsors
the contest each year in an effort
to increase our children’s aware-
ness of the principles of liberty
and justice for which our nation
stands,” Barbara A. Cheaney,
Vice President of Communica-
tions said.
Elementary school stu-
dents in grades kindergarten
through fifth may submit one
original poster no larger than 20"
x 20.” Judges will evaluate post-
ers based on eye appeal, origi-
nality and theme. Winners will
receive cash awards.

“Attic Affair”
Junior League’s “Attic Af-
fair” Celebrates Fifteenth Year
with Special Guests, the World-
Famous Budweiser Clydesdales
The Junior League of
Wichita Falls is holding its Fif-
teenth Annual Attic Affair at the
J.S. Bridwell Ag Center on Fri-
day, March 23rd from 6:00 p.m.
to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday,
March 24th 8:00 a.m. to 2:00
p.m. The World-Famous
Budweiser Clydesdales will be
our special guests helping us cel-
ebrate our fifteenth year of Attic
Affair.
Attic Affair is a 200-plus
family garage sale featuring gen-
tly-used items donated by Jun-
ior League members and some
brand-new items donated by gen-
erous local merchants. The pub-
lic is invited to come out and
shop the wide variety of items
offered at very reasonable ga-
rage-sale prices. There’s a $2.00
entry fee at the door. The pro-
ceeds go toward maintaining the
Junior League’s headquarters.
The fun begins on Friday
evening at 6:00 p.m. when the
doors open on “Twice-the-Price”
Night. Attic Affair Co-Chair
Tammie Wooster remarked,
“This is the favorite time for all
those who don’t mind paying
double the marked price to get
first shot at the good stuff!”
Saturday morning the
doors open at 8:00 a.m. and the
sale lasts until 2:00 p.m. Attic
Affair Co-Chair Becky
Schroeder stated, “Attic Affair is
like a treasure hunt - with items
ranging from vintage furniture
and home decor to sporting
equipment and clothing for all
ages. There’s something for ev-
eryone. And we’re really excited
about our new location, the J.S.
Bridwell Ag Center!”

gain shopping and visit with the
World-Famous Budweiser Cly-
desdales!

Wolf Insurance
to Award
Scholarship
Wolf Insurance Agency of
Windthorst has announced they
will award a $250 education
scholarship to a 2007 graduat-
ing high school senior at the an-
nual meeting of Germania Farm
Mutual Insurance Association
Local Chapter 143. The meeting
will be held on Sunday, April 1,
2007 at the Knights of Colum-
bus Hall in Windthorst at 7:00
p.m. All members of Local Chap-
ter 143 are invited to attend as
well as all customers of Wolf In-
surance Agency.
Qualifying students may
register to win the Wolf Insur-
ance Scholarship payable to any
college, university or vocational
training school by presenting a
completed entry form during the
registration period of the meet-
ing (6:30-7:00p.m.) The schol-
arship drawing will be held fol-
lowing the business meeting.
Parents or legal guardians and
eligible students must both be
present at the time of the draw-
ing.
To be eligible the applicant
must have an insurance policy
with Wolf Insurance Agency in
force on April 1, 2007 or appli-
cant must reside with parent or
legal guardian who has an insur-
ance policy with Wolf Insurance
Agency in force on April 1,2007.
The applicant must also be a
2007 graduating high school se-
nior and plan to enroll as a full-
time student in the 2007 fall se-
mester at a college, university or

Various door prizes includ-
