of the volunteers the time has seemed much
longer It is true that during the period
named considerable has been accomplished
toward equipping the men getting them
used to camp life making them proficient
In drills and in many oth er ways but It
appears to the young fellows who sacrificed
eo much In answer to their countnVs call
that matters have been moving very slow-

many times In these columns they enlisted
to fight and when they first took tho oath
they fondly hoped that they would bo en-
gaged In actlvo campaigning In tho ene

The Justice of their complaints as to tho

In the operation Is unquestioned but on
the other hand tficro Is no doubt of tho fact
that tho lessons they are learning hero and
the hard work they are twins compelled to
perform will be of almost Incalculable ad-
