NEW MOON — A picture of the moon more vivid than one taken through a single tele-
scope is made possible by combining photographs from widely scattered observatories.
Army Map Service in Washington. D. C., put together the mosaic above using many photos
taken at different times at various points on the earth. Topographical features of each
section of the moon are thus been as they appear under optimum lighting conditions.
