northeast Quebec mining town
of Gagnon.

Houston, May 31 — The
trial of a Houston man, William
Kirby Robinson, in the slaying
of his wife has ended in a mis-
trial.
The trial was halted by Dis-
trict Judge Langston G. King
after the father of u juror, Wil-
liam M. Johnson of Houston,
died in Florida.
Robinson is charged with
beating his wife to death dur-
ing a drinking bout. She was
the former Miss Catherine
Hammond, heiress to the Scott
naper fortunes.
