ing In the case of tho appeal from
Houston with regard to city trus-
tees sustained tho ruling heretofore
mado by tho State superintendent
tthlcb was to tho effect that the
trustees who were in office as BUch
on Mnrch 30 1809 could not ba
legally removed by tho clt7 council
but that said trustees would hold-
over until 1901 and 1003 ns provided
for In the new trustee law
As will bo seen from tho abovo tele-

board of education ha3 mado a ruling
which in effect upholds the action taken
by Stato Supcrlntondont Kendall recently
In regard to tho superintendence of the
Houston schools and holds that the local
trusteos who were In office on March 30
1S99 can not bo Interfered with by tho
city council until their terms expire In
1901 and 1303
The hearing of tho injunction suit
brought for tho purposo of restraining
Prof V W Barnett from assuming tho
duties of the office to which ho was elected
by ono of tho school boards and the city
