1 PETITION ASKING FOR
PASSENGER TRAIN
A petition was circulated here
this week asking the Superin-
tendent of the katy railroad to
put our passenger train back
on. We have no passenger
train service here since the re-
cent strike, except mixed train
service, but now that the strike
has been settled the citizens mix-
anxious to have the regular ser-
vice re-established, which
should lie done at once.
The petition was eagerly sign
ed by all who had an opportun-
ity to sign It. Also, leruesls
have been sent to all of the
towns on the Mineola-Green-
ville branch to join in with the
Emory petitioners and as soon
us the other towns are heard
from the petitions will lie for-
warded to Mr. R K. Farmer,
the .SupeniiUr.de:.'. ■' Green-
ville.
We are entitled to better serv
ice and beleive that with the
pmper co-operation on the part
of our people we believe we will
get it.
