Earl Heath, pictured above, Chief
accountant in the Finance Department of the
City, joined the municipal staff in October
1966. Earl is a native of Cleburne, Texas,
completing high school there. He served in
the United States Army from 1960 to 1963,
assigned to the apyroll section.
Earl spent most of his tour of duty in
Poitiers, France. The Statue of Liberty,
which was given to the United States by
France, was built in Poitiers.
After returning from the Army, Hea th
entered North Texas State University. He
later married Frances Williams of Burleson.
They met while both were working for the
Lone Star Gas Company.
In order to bolster the family budget,
Earl took a job as Manager of Stone's Shoe
Store on the north side of the square from
July until December 1964. He received his
degree in Business Administration in August
of. 1965, and in September 1965 he became
associated with the University Book Store on
the NTSU campus as a bookkeeper.
Earl and his wife belong to the First
Methodist Church and they live at 705 Pershing
Drive.
Earl says he likes Denton very much and
is happy to be a part of this growing City.Pictured above are the three firemen who
have passed a civil service test and are
eligible for appointment to captain. From
left to right are Danny Jenkins, Jim Dolgener,
new captain, and Jerry McCormick.
Dolgener began as a student fireman in
1963. He has completed three years of
college work.
All three of these men are outstanding
employees and have given very efficient
