cause it is a traditional laun-
dry day, but because it is my
bookkeeping day.
Laundry days for me are
any days, but usually at night,
thanks to an automatic washing
machine. But bookkeeping day
falls on Monday, because of
necessity; and unfortunatly
no genius has come up with
an automatic bookkeeper to
decipner the confused ledgers
of one addled Editor.
As if my ledgers weren’t
enough, the Federal Govern-
ment and the State Government
have to get in the act and add
to the confusion with their
social security forms, with-
holding forms, store licenses,
sales taxes, state taxes, in-
come taxes, and all the other
taxes I’m not aware of— but
will find out about when they
come to haul me off to Leaven-
worth.
Now mind you I don’t mind
paying these taxes, if they
would just make it a simple
procedure. And I think the best
way to handle the simplifying
of the present tax mess, would
be to let a woman head the
office of Comprtroller of the
State, and The Treasuery Dept,
of the United States. They
should put a woman in charge
of simplifying Socal security
Forms. An excellent canidate
for this office would be Darlene
Born, who truly burst a blood
vessel in her forehead, trying
to figure out the correct way
to file the quarterly return. !
I personally would be glad
to handle the Treasurery De-
partment „ The first thing I
would do would be to fire the
men who thought of the sim-
plified 1040.
Along this line of simplici-
ation. I noticed a magazine
article entittled “How to Eli-
minate Noise in Your Home..’’
I didn’t read the article, be-
cause I already know how.
