Higgins Youths Show
Champions at Fat
Stock Show, Amarillo

Bill Trosper exhibited the Cham-
pion Souithdown wether lamb on
Jan. 21, at the Amarillo Fat Stock
Show. He also had 9th place light
Southdown.
Ray Trosper showied the 2nd
place heavy Southdown wether and
6th place light wether lamb.
These lambs were bred by Trosper
Brothers, Higgins, Texas.
Last week Trospers attended the
National Western Stock Show,
Denver, Colorado, and exhibited 9
lambs. The same lamb that won
at Amarillo, placed 2nd in the
Denver Open wether show. They
also had two 9th and two 10th
places, and their pens of three
lambs placed 4th and 5th.
At the National western Stock
Show, Trosper Brothers, purchased
a registered yearling Southdown
ram from Duron Howard, Mulhall,
Oklahoma.
Bill and iRay are sons of Mr. and
Mrs. Corwin Trosper, Higgins,
Texas.
The young brothers are at this
time preparing lamb entries to be
shown in the Southwestern Live-
stock Show and Exhibition, Ft.
Worth and Houston Fat Stock
Show, Houston, Texas, later on this
spring.
Once again the Beayer Area
missed most of the bad weather
when another storm front moved
through. We’ve had a lot of cold
weather, but not much snow and
ice.

Ray Savoy of Beaver has made
application for a Great Plains Con-
tract on his 1040 acre farm East
of Beaver. Ray intends to build
two stock water ponds, build ad-
ditional terraces and construct a
stock water tank.

interested in drilling a stockwater
well under the Great Plains Prog-
ram.
District Engineers staked three
miles of terraces on the Evan Neal
Pierce farm near Balko. These ter-
races will protect 119 acres of crop-
land from erosion. Cost sharing
will be provided by the ACP Prog-
ram.

seeding. Ernest is also interested
