Reality
On June 16, 1974, the Blessed
Sacrament Chapel of Perpetual
Adoration will be blessed and
dedicated at 4:00 p.m. The Bishop of
the Diocese of Corpus Christ!, Most
Rev. Thomas J. Drury, has invited
everyone in the Diocese to attend the
ceremonies at 4105 Ocean Drive.
The dedication of the Blessed
Sacrament C.iapel is the realization of
a dream born in the heart of the late
Most Rev. Mariano S. Garriga, and
nurtured and brought to reality by
Bishop Drury.
It was a beautiful dream; it has
become a beautiful reality. The
Blessed Sacrament Chapel is a shrine
worthy of the Eucharistic Christ, the
name-sake of our city, the namesake of
our Diocese.
Young and old, rich and poor — the
neopie of God — in the Diocese of
Corpus Christi have made this chapel
possible. Through "white baaT
collections of years past, through
personal checks, through foundation
fn^lhe *Diocese of Corpus^Christi has
contributed toward the building of the
Blessed Sacrament Chapel. It an
expression of our love and devotion to
Jesus Christ.
Love and devotion have prompted us
to build this shrine to Jesus Christ In
the Most Blessed Sacrament. It musts
be a living shrine — given life by love
and devotion actively expressed. The
visits we make to the Blessed
Sacrament here and in our own parish
churches, the Holy Communionf^we
receive, the Eucharistic Celebrations
in which we take part will make the
Blessed Sacrament Chapel a living
expression of the love and devotion of
the people of God in the Diocese of
Corpus Christi.
