Thoughts at Random by Rev. Pond
njven as tne wise men
searched for the Christ Child,
i they needed the star to find
Him. Therefore, they followed
the star in the East until they
stood where, the child was,
They realized because of the
prophecy that the star would
bring them to the place of
the Messiah.
Had the wise men failed
to follow the star, they would
not have found the Son of God
who was born in the flesh.
The star led them to the place
where jesus was and for the
first time in the lives they
stood over the Light of the
World.
Every person now living
looks for a star or something
to guide them. Too often they
seek to find that star in the
lives, teachings and sadly
enough the failures of others-
Let us learn a lesson from the
wise men who followed the
star across the land. The
purpose of the star was to
lead them to the place where
the Christ child lay. When
they found the Child the star
was forgotten and they fell
down and worshipped Him.
Why walk in the dimness
of starlight, when you can
walk in the brillance of the
Son of God? Now that we have
the supreme revelation of
God in Christ jesus, we no
longer need the stars to guide
us, but the Son. To search
in me world for anycning
pther is to accept substitutes
for the “Light which lighteth
every man who cometh into
the world. ”
