Sweepstake s
On April 20, the Wild-
cat Band traveled to Abi-
lene to ocmpete in concert
and sight reading compet-
ition. The band received
first in both contests and,
earned a Sweepstakes tro-
phy by also earning a
ftcst division in Marching
Contest last November.
The band boosters furni-
shed a chartered bus for
the 1+2 participating stu-
dents. The bus was fur -
nished because the band
made first division in
Maxching Contest.
In UIL events, Aulds
participated in number ' sense
for 3 years, calculator 1
year, typing 1 year and
journalism 2 years.
Aulds was assistant dir-
ector of her Jr. PLay, was
fbotbaH sweetheart nominee
this year and played bas-
ketball and ran track for
2 years.
She has received numer-
ous awards in high school
because of her dedication
and dependability. She
was chosen citizen of the
month 2 years, Who's Wl
in band 2 years and Who's
Who in jcurnali sm this year.
She served as class officer
for 3 jeaxs, was class fav-
orite ' 1 year, Efchool Spirit
2 years, Wittiest 1 year,
ML® ACBS this year and was
chosen BAR Citizen by the
high school faculty.
Pippin Competes
Rt Rust in
Brad Pippin, junior, com-
peted in the UIL State
Meet for the 2A champion-
ship in number sense. The
Meet was held in Austin at
the University of Texas,
Friday, April 29th.
Pippin received i^th place
out of 12 students compet-
ing for the state title.
He was the only student from
Archer City who qualified
for state competition, Mr.
Gray, math sponsor, wished
more students had been able
to attend State and that
"it would have been more fun
if several students had
been able to attend."
Moorehead Chosen
M ay Citizen..
Kayla Mocrehead has been
chosen May Citizen of the
Month. She is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Bil ly
Mocrdiead of Wichita Palls.
Moorehead has been very
active during her i* years
at ACHS. She has partic-
ipated in band 1+ years and
was president this year.
She was nominated for Band
Sweetheart 2 years and was
crowned queen this year.
Moorehead has been in FHA
2 years and served as trea-
surer 1 year. She was a
member of the Library Club
for 2 years and was vice
president 1 year and a
Student Council member her
junior year.
Moorehead hsd been e-
lected basketball cheer-
leader her junior and sen-
ior years and was elected
class favorite for 2 years.
She was chosen Friendliest
this year by the student
body and is an officer of
her senior class.
Last fall she was elect-
ed to represent Archer High
as Christmas Queen and has
taken pictures for this
year's annual.

May 10. Karen Elzie was
elected drum major for the
1983—8I4 school year and
Sherrie Barnett will serve
as flag captain. The'rest

rison, Kim Knox, Laura Rus-
sell, Beeky Byrd, Stacy
Bouglas, Missy Halstead,
