September 29, 1961_
/ here's been Some
Changes
Things were getting pret-
ty bad in old A, C. H., S.
Students were
through-the hdlesin the old
gym floor •, on cloudy days
everyone was bringing flash-
lights to school in order
to see their books, and sev-
eral students were victims
of loose plaster falling
from the ceilings. Well,
all of that was changed
during the summer. The gym
now has a shiny new floor
and there are new ceilings
and modern florescent lights
throughout the building
Also, the science lab lies
been modernized and its pre-
historic equipment has all
been replaced. The only
thing we want back is our
comfortable old chairs in-
stead of the stiff new
stools.
DRUM MAJORETTE
AnD TWIRLERS CHOSEN
All of the twirlers viere
busy ove'r the summer ' holi-
days preparing for the
1961-62 school year.
Drum Majorette Karen
Barton went to Lamar Tech
in Beaumont. There she took
drum majoring and advanced
twirling.
The two majorettes, Ellen
Campbell and Ellen Stephens
went to T. C. U. at Fort
Worth* There they took in-
termediate twirling, strut-
ting, and duet twirling•
Charles Brock, the fea-
ture twirler, stayed here
in Archer and gave twirl-
ing lessons to some of the
future majprettes of Archer
High in years to come.

Seniors Receive
Rings
It is easy to recognise
the Seniors by the smiles
on their faces and the
rings on their fingers.
The long awaited Senior
rings finally arrived on
Sept. 6. As any Senior
will gladly point out the
oval-shaped rings have the
letters A. C, H. S., a
Texas state emblem, a wild-
cat, the year 1962. In case
you haven’t guessed, we’re
all very proud of them.
