Most times I think that
the greatest ability in any
person is initiative. Ini-
tiative means totnfca things
into your own hands and go
ahead and do them-without
being told. Initiative is
faith in yourself. It is
rulersbip over yourself-the
ability to keep going when
it would be easier to quit-
because you know that the
rewards are many for a
worthwhile job well done.
Columbus, Lincoln, Edi-
son, these are names wound
about the story of what
initiative does. They saw
jobs that needed to be done
and they did then to the
best of their abilities.
They • didn’t waste time
waiting for someone to ex-
plain things to them. The
only complaint that people
with initiative have is ihe
slowness of the crowd in
catching up with them.
They rule the world. They
master environment and
improve it for others.
Of course, initiative
costs. You have to go
through hard work and often
discouragement, You must
walk right by failure and
not let it pull you dGwn „
But initiative pajcs-rc
one has ever been a leader
with out it. No one hnr
ever been a winner without
it.
Do you want it? It’s up
to youI
