Class Motto
A Time Never Forgotten
By: Justin Goforth
You go through the many years
'
Thinking that this day will never come.
When it finally does, you wish it could last;
But time must go on, or there would be no past.
As you sit patiently awaiting the sound of your name,
You stare into the crowd to see all who came.
Countless memories well in your heart with a rage
'.life-," ;!*./■• ' .
As you finally begin to fill with tears,
v
You feel as if you’re bidding farewell to those precious years.
Later as you walk down the hall for that one final look,
You’re hoping to capture memories for that one special book.
Several seniors take ‘trip’ down
high school’s embarrassment lane

Cat’s Claw
Throughout our high school years,
we all have become subject to those
horrible moments that allow others to
taunt us forever. Even though most
were not funny at the time, maybe af-
ter graduation these seniors can look
back and laugh at themselves as they
remember their most embarrassing
moments.
Moments such as Katie Miller’s
trip down the bleachers that left her
poodle skirt in a dance above her head
at the Halloween football game.
And let’s not forget Patrick Martin,
who decided to lock himself in a pub-
lic restroom, only to discover he
couldn’t get out.
Over the years embarrassing tales
do seem a little less traumatic, but one
will never forget the uneasy feelings,
along with the red faces and broken
egos of their high school days.
Just ask Matt Stults how it feels to
publicly misspell his own name, or ask
Adam Getts how it feels to score for
the other team.
And clear the way for Dustin Burks
who “accidentally” ran into a gas
pump at Curtis’, ran off Brooke’s
driveway and ran into her own house!
Although not as embarrassing,
Anna Campbell finds running into-her
house on her go-cart a lovely afternoon
activity.
Amanda Foreman and Melissa
Buchanan needed a plunger at Circle
K when they over flowed the public
toilet.
Tennis queen Lacey Wuthrich re-
members when she tripped on the side-
walk and nearly broke her ankle, while
everyone watched and laughed.
Tyler Matlock’s moment that still
brings a sting is when she had an en-
counter with a sting ray at Padre Is-
land.
All Natalea Roderick wrote was,
“Cheesecake...need I say more?”
If you would like advice on get-
ting slapped in the lunch room, just ask
Josh Howells who got backhanded by
his best friend’s baby sister.
And rightfielder Misty Thomason
had quite a run-in with the fence at the
Burkbumett Tournament.
Speaking of softball, Amanda
McCord remembers falling in front of
the crowd at a game.
Crystal Huffman remembers when
Courtney, Kayla, Renea and Misty
pulled her shorts down after a base-
ball game and she just stood there in
shock.
Doug George’s most embarrassing
moment was dropping his drum down
the stands at his first football game.
The stairs in the high school build-
ing also had several seniors “tripped
up.” Lauren Scott, Jessica Casimir,
Amber Howell, James Shafer and Jus-
tin Goforth all fell either up or down
the stairs on one or more occasions.
Though we embarrass ourselves at
the most inopportune times, we move
on and remember.
The seniors are better because they
have fallen, but it is not that they fell,
it’s how quickly they got back up.

Cat’s Claw
Various seniors took time out of
their busy schedules to look back and
reflect on their high school years. In
doing so, they were able to recollect
on their most memorable moments
they have experienced.
“When Lacie Ross and I got kicked
out of Ms. Wright’s class for getting
tickled at Josh Howells was a high-
light of my high school years,” said
Amanda McCord.
Brooke McWhorter cherishes more
traditional moments like “spending
time with my classmates at senior par-
ties and trips.”
Varsity basketball players, Katie
Miller and Lauren Scott, took their
games seriously, making them the
highlight of their last year.
“After the last game, I just looked
around at all the people in the stands,
my teammates, my coaches and the
student body,” said Miller. “With the
feel of the basketball as I dribbled it
one last time and took one final shot in
my varsity uniform, I realized that a
chapter of my life had ended at the
sound of the buzzer.”
Other seniors also found their
memorable moments came from par-
ticipating in sports.
Brett Hoff and Brian Ward, both
members of the varsity football team,
felt like winning the last district foot-
ball game was one of their most
memorable moments.
“Cutting the basketball net down
after we made it to the playoffs added
to my list of memorable moments,”
said Trey Womack.
“My most memorable moment of
my high school career would be the
last football game of the season,” said
Lacey Wuthrich.
Other seniors found their memo-
rable moments in special occurrences.
“When I look back on our senior
year, I am reminded of when our aca-
demic English class stood up and
started singing our class song,” said
Lacie Ross.
“Getting a surprise party on my six-
teenth birthday and getting to drive our
