Mrs. TrentTs seventh
grade students are
studying time zones
and time tables in
math. In geography,
they are studying the
Post Oak Belt of Texas
and in science the
study of germs.
Randy King has been
absent since Christmas.
We hope he will be
back soon.

grade boys basketball
team lost to Iowa Park
30-9.
The Junior High girls
basketball team will
have their first Dis-
trict game T ue sd a y
night with Holliday.
It will be played there.
FIFTH
Miss Byers fifth
grade are working on
our assembly program
which is to be pre-
sented Tuesday, F e b-
ruary 11. We will
have a one-act play
"Ginny's Pajama Party”
presented by ten of
the girls. We will,
also have a ’’Style
Show", presented by
Betty McRoy, who is
the narrator, and the
twelve boys in the
room. The boys are to
be the models. Karen
Holder will play a
piano solo. Patty
Gross is the announ-
cer, and Charlene Wil-
lett will lead the
Flag Salute.
Several in our room
will try out for the
champion speller In
the spelling bee. The
winner in our room
will compete against
the other room cham-
pions in the school
spelling bee.
On February lip, we
will have our Valentin©
Party. We will have
individual Valentine
boxe s.
FOURTH
Mrs. Gardiner Ts ipth
grade is happy to have
Robert Martin from Wi-
chita Falls, as a new
pupil.
We are studying Aus-
tralia, the Lonely
Continent, in geogra-
phy. In language, we
are learning to write
business letters. We
are really enjoying
our SRA Reading Labor-
atory. The Power
Builders are full of
information and the
Rate Builders are fun.
So are fractions in
Arithmetic]

Mrs. Wallace*s
fourth grade room has
just finished studying
Australia ingeography.
In arithmetic we have
been working fractions.
Mrs. Wallace taught
us about ones to tril-
lions in arithmetic.
We have a new pupil,
Mike Lee, who came from
Tulsa, Oklahoma.
During the noon
hour Wednesday, the
class made valentines.
They were all very
pretty.
We are trying to
keep up our school work
while we are working
on our program. In
Geography we are fin-
ishing up the study of
the "North Central
States." In language
we are studying "Letter
Writing." In arith-
metic we are studying
proper and improper
fractions, and mixed
numbers. In health
we are studying "Clean-
liness" and its rela-
tion to our happiness.
FIRST
The first grade has
been studying about
weather in their
science class.
They have done ex-
periments making sha-
dows in class.
The first grade has
been making valentines;
The children have
made a chart about Mr.
Lincoln and have made
pictures about him.
They have been using
numbers with the ir rods
and are now working
number problems._
FIFTH
In Mrs* Brother1s
room we are getting
ready for the National
Spelling Bee. The
ones that are going to
be in it are Kandace
Bell, Gloria Hannah,
Nancy Thomas, T iss a
Gross, Gary Smitson,
A* P. Cox, Shirley
Gensler, Kerb! Mat-
thews, and Darlene
Cathey.
The fifth grade ex-
changed libraries and
are looking forward to
reading the different
books._
HELLO
"Hello" only lasts
for a minute, ItTs a
short, brisk, queer
little word* But,
sayl therefs a lot of
cheer in it; It*s like
the first chirp of a
bird in spring, when
the hilltops are green-
ing, right after the
cold and the snow. I
think when it comes to
real meaning, there
isn* t a w o r d like
"HelloJ"
