Wildcats
first Victory
Archer City's Wildcats
seek their first win of the
season tonight at .Berry
Stadium against undefeated
Throckmorton in a rivalry
dating back to the early
sixty's.
Throckmorton runs from
the "I" formation with No.
20 Bill Bundy the quarter-
back and most dangerous
back. The 'Hounds like to
throw the ball and split an
end on every play. Throck-
morton's defense has five
down men and ' three line-
backers. They are one of
the few teams that still
run man-to-man coverage in
the secondary.
The Wildcats were de-
feated by Henrietta last
week 1)1-0, while Throck-
morton beat Sunday l6-9«

Henrietta Routs
AC Wildcats 41-o
Henrietta continued its
mastery over the Archer
City Wildcats here last
Jriday night as the Bear-
cats recorded their fifth
straight win over AC.
Bor nine minutes of the
first quarter, the game was
an ev e n, hard-fought defen-
sive contest. Henrietta
was forced to punt late in
the quarter from deep in
their ora territory, and
Weyman Oliver gathered in
the kick, got outside and
sped into the end-zone for
what looked to he the game's
first score. However, a
clipping penalty called the
play back, and Henrietta
then began to take control.
The Wildcats were forced
to punt and a few plays
later, Henrietta fullback
Hike Bbuloin broke over the
middle on a counter and.
sped 86 yards untouched for
the score. After that the
roof fell in for the Cats.
At half the score was 21-0,
and Henrietta scored three
times in the last half also
to make the final score i).l-
0.
Henrietta evened its
season record at 1-1 while
the Wildcats fell to 0-2.

Tigers Break Jinx
Shutout Wildcats
Far the f i’rs t t-i nt e
since 1963, and only the
second time in ten years,
the AC Wildcats fell to
their traditional rival,
the Electra Tigers.
Archer City won the
opening coin toss and e-
lected to receive. They
took the opening kick-off
and promptly marched deep
into Electra territory,
where a clipping penalty
halted the drive.
Neither team showed
much offense until the be-
ginning of the second quar-
ter when Electra unveiled
star receiver Terry Bruce*
A couple of quick tosses
to speedy split eqd gave
Electra good field posi-
tion and forced-the Wild-
cats deep into a hole. Al-
ter a couple of quick ex-
changes on fumbles and
pass interceptions, Elec-
tra had the ball deep in
Wildcat territory* Lynn
Lott then scored the first
of his two touchdowns on a
short scamper around the
left end*
After the half, both
teams came back with a good
defensive effort. The
third period was scoreless,
but Lott got his second
touchdown of the night
early in the fourth quarto?*
The Wildcats still could
not get their offense crank-
ed up, so the ballgame end-
ed with Electra on top lLi-
0*
The Wildcats are now 0-1
and Electra is 1-0*
