Students attend
summer earn ps
Summer carps were atten-
ded by several different
ACHS groups. They were the.
football cheerleaders, bas-
ketball cheerleaders, jun-
ior high cheerleaders, flag
corps, and the annual staff.
The cheerleaders attend-
ed camp at Barwise Junior
High June 6-10, All three
squads were nominated for
the award of excellence
which is the highest award
at cheerleading school.
The football cheerleaders
received a plaque for run-
ner-up, and the basketball
cheerleaders also received
a plaque for winning the
award.
The flag corps had a
summer camp at ACHS, The
corps was instructed by
Cathy MitLs from Lake* High-
lands in Dallas. There are
eleven girls in the flag
corps this year.
The annual staff atten-
ded a summer workshop at
MSU. The workshop was held
from June 8-10. The annual
staff received a second
place award plaque fer lay-
out design.

Students are not the
only n'6w additions to Ar-
cher City. Si-x new teach-
ers have been added to the
faculty. Mrs, Kathy Thomp-
son is the new Jr. and Sr.
English teacher, Thompson
is a graduate of Stephen
F, Austin State University
in Nacogdoches. She and
her husband, Bill, are liv-
ing in Lakeside City with
their 7-year-old daughter,
Kelly.
Archer City also has
three new coaches for boys’
athletics: Mike Wood, Gary
Rowe, and Johnny Gore.
Mike Wood is the head
coach for boys* athletics
and he also teaches some
science classes. His three
children are: Amy,, 13*
Cameron,10, and Hunter, 5.
Wood lives in Archer City.
Gary Rowe teaches athfc
letics, driver’s ed., and
history. His wife, Rhonda,
is expecting a baby in
March, 198U. They live in
Wichita Falls.

The sophomore class has
seven new members: -Billy
Rushton from Burkburnett;
Shane Weaver from Olney;
Melissa and Patricia Bowles
from Nocorfa; Pam Weimer
and Karen Ratcliff from
Rider; and Shane Rater from
Clovis, New Mexico.
The junior class added
only one new member. He
is Mike McMurray ftm Rider.'

Johnny Gore also teach-

history and math. He and
his wife, Donria Kay, have
two daughters:. Magen, I4
and Brooke, !?• They also
live in Wichita Falls. All
three of the coaches are
graduates of Tarleton Uni-
versity.
Becky Schreiber; from
Windthorst, is coaching
girls’ athletics and also
teaching Spanish and health.
Her husband is David Schrei-
ber and they have three
children. They are: An-
drew, Amber, 2, and Todd,

Theresa Henry teaches
middle school reading and
spelling. She is a grad-
uate of West Texas State'
