On March 20, Mrs.
Trent’s English class
visited the High SchodL
Library. Mrs. Gaulden,
the librarian, gave us
a very interesting
lecture on the develop-
ment and usage of the
library. Later on
there was a question and
answer period about the
library. We enjoyed it
very much.

Our classes have been
working on the Eighth Grade
Banquet, and we are all
very excited about it.
Mr. Weaver’s class and
our class chose our colors
which are blue and silver
and our motto: ’’From
Dreams to Reality". Shirley
Luig will write the class
history and Rita McBroom
will help her. We don’t
know who will be Valedicto-
rian or Salutatorian, but
several of the students
hope to receive the honor.
Jim Horany will be master
of ceremonies.

In Mrs. Gardiner’s ijth
grade, we are seeing how
much we nave improved in
our writing since the first

of us have improved very
much.
Mr’S. Wallace’s room
listened with us to Mr.
Ritter, who talked to us
about music. He brought
Linda Crowley, John Crain,
and Charles Brock, who
demonstrated a few members
of the Woodwind and Brass
family. He played the
record "The American Over-
ture" for our pleasure.
We have made original
poems with pictures. We
believe we have some very
good poets.
In geography we have

Poems written by Mrs.
Wallace’s Fourth Grade
students.
Spring ^
I like to hear the birds
sing,
So merrily do they sing,
I’ve never heard a pretti-
er thing,
Than a bird in the spring.
—Teresa Matlock
Summer
I like summer best of all,
I like to go swimming and
have a ball,
I like baseball most of
all,
Because I usually see a
lark down at the old
ballpark,
I like to hear the birds
sing,
Because they make me think
of the water in springs,
And that is why I like sum-
mer best of all.
—Eddie Trigg
The only time some
youths want to get
ahead is in traffic.
