Killed By a Train
Marlin Texas Sept 25 About
1230 last night H H Schrader met
death on the International railroad
within the city limits He had start-
ed from town to his home on the out-
skirts of the city when run oer and
killed by the passenger train thatj ar-
rives in Marlin at that hour His
body was dragged the length of fif-
teen rails and mutilated beyond recog-
nition The engineer stated that he
saw the body while the train was
right upon it but not soon enough to
stop There is a decided curve in
the road where the body was struck
Deceased is reported by the engineer
of the train to have been lying on
the railroad track when struck and
the circumstances corroborate the
statement of the engineer Deceased
was 53 years of age He leaves a
wife and nine children

which Governor Charles N Haskell of
Oklahoma is included among the de-
fendants were called for trial in the
federal court here today Judge Mar-
shall of Utah presiding Tha charge
against the defendants is conspiracy
to defraud the government > in connec-
tion with the scheduling of town lots
in Muskogee With the exception of
Governor Haskell all the defendants
are said to be ready for trial The
governor it is understood desires a
delay In the proceedings until after
election
