"I would also like to add some
youth to the school board. 1 know
I am quite a bit younger than
those that are on the schopl board
and those that are running, but I
feel I could bring some younger
viewpoints to the table."
Chaney, 42, was a member
of the SISD board from Sept.
2003 through June 30, 2005,
holding the Place 4 seat until re-
signing from the board because he
and his family had moved outside
of his district s boundaries.
"It's a great way for me to give
J>ack to the community that I have
lived in for the past ten years,” said
Chaney. "I learned a lot with my
first experience in serving on the
school board, and I would like
to have the opportunity to do so
again."
Chaney said that he was not
seeking election to the board for
any personal reasons, other than
he thinks that any board should
work as a team, rather than
against one another.
"Our school board works well

with one another, and I would
like to see it stay that way," said
Chaney.
Chaney has been a resident
of Seminole for ten years and has
two children. 1
The Place 4 seat, currently
held by Jacob Loewen, is also up
for election for the unexpired term
left behind by Chaney's resigna-
tion on June 30. 2005
Guy Chaney
Loewen was appointed to the
school board in August 2005 and
is unopposed so far in the May
general election.
Chiles has been a member
of the SISD school board since
2000, while Wright, who serves
as the vice president of the board,
has been serving since 2003.

and the smoke smell perme-
ated the contents.
While one cleanup crew tack-
led the county attorney's offices,
seperate crews worked through-
out the courthouse, beginning at
the top, Mowery said. ’
Heating and air conditioning
ducts are cleaned first, followed
by the space above the ceilings
and the ceilings. Special chemicals
and tools are then used to clean
painted walls, marble and the
floors, he said.
Workers also busied them-
selves by cleaning the building's
interior glass, doors and trim
work.
"They will clean up all of this
stuff," House said. "They're kind
of a restoration (company). They
don't miss a thing."
Restoration team employees
cleaned the county attorney’s files
and law books on-site, Mowery
said. No legal documents are taken
off the premises.
Other salvageable items,
which may include items such as
furniture and office accessories,
may be taken to Lubbock for res-
toration, Mowery said.
"We try to restore items that it's
cost-effective to restore," he said.
House expects no cleanup
costs to the county, as the service
is covered by insurance, she said.
Harmon is operating from
a space, formerly a break room,
that is across the hull from his
burned-out offices. The move will
be permanent, House said.
Following the cleanup, con-
tractors will build out the space into
new county attorney’s offices, she
said. The fire-damaged offices will
be built into a new break room.
Construction costs also
should be covered by insurance,
House said. It is possible that the
county may incur some costs that
are outside the scope of what the
insurance policy covers.
