Fort Worth, Tex., Jan. 18.—
The Texas Commercial Secreta-
ries and Business Men’s Associa-
tion has just issued a review of
Texas’ progress during the past
year in which is listed some of
the largest industrial and con-
struction projects in the world.
The Austin dam is cited a ? the
longest dam across a ruining
stream in the world. This ds m is
being built across the Cole ratio
River at Austin at a cost of $1,-
750,000. The Dallas viaduct is
said to be the longest piece of
concrete highway on the conti-
nent; this viaduct was finished
during the past year at a cost of
$680,000. The Galveston cause-
way, noted as the largest engin-
eering feat completed on the
globe during the year and second
largest in the entire world was
constructed at a cost of $1,600,-
000. The causeway was formally
dedicated and opened for traffic
in October.
The largest irrigation proposi-
tion in the world is also ela med
for Texas in the Medina Dam
which cost $6,000,000.
