Frank D. Phillips
Dies Monday;
Services Tuesday
Mr. Frank Donald Phillips,74,
died Monday morning in a Sher-
man nursing home after an ex-
tended illness. His home was at
623 Kessler, Sherman.
Services were held at 2:30 P.
M. Tuesday at the Renfro-Bar-
rett Chapel, conducted by Rev.
William B. Slack and Rev. No-
el Bryant. Burial was in the
Highland Cemetery in Durant,
Okla.
He attended public school in
Howe and he served on the Sta-
te Board of Texas Cotton Gin-
ners Association and Texas Se-
ed Crushers Association. H e
was a In ember"of the First
Methodist Church and Masonic
Lodge No. 42 of Durant, Okla.
Mr. Phillips was born Decem-
ber 6, 1894, in Howe, the son of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Phil-
lips. He was married Nov. 21,
1957 to Faye Baugety.
He is survived by his wife;
one son, Frank D. Phillips, Jr.
of Austin; one daughter, Mrs.
G. Q. Rexford of Albuquerque,
N. M.; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Don Mar-
tin, Robert Goble, William Vau-
ghn, Otis Smith, Paul Cretein,
Pete Rosso, Jim Walls, and
Conrad Hamff. Honorary Pall-
bearers were: Reed Bell, Bill
Ward, Jack Hicks and Paul
Wells. -~~

with a covered dish dinner on
his 85th birthday Sunday, at
the home of his daughter, Mrs.
J. M. Orr, three miles north-
west of town.
Those present were: Mr- and
Mrs. E. E. Robertson and fam-
ily, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Robert-
son and son, Mr. and Mrs. El-
bert Smith and daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. Hugh Owens, all of
Hagerman; Mr. and Mrs. Sam
Cooper ana family, Mr. and
Mrs. V. H. Haiziip, Mrs.- Will
Roberts and family, Mr. and
Mrs- Johnny Thompson and
family, Mrs. H. L. Thompson
and daughter, and Mr. and Mrs.
J. M. Orr and family.
Miss Wilma Holloway was vi-
siting Miss Trula Holloway Sun-
day afternoon.
Lucy Long, a Howe dog, own-
ed jointly by H. L. Huddleston
and J. C. George was winner of
the racing meet held in Dallas
Sunday. This was Lucy Long’s
first track appearance, accord-
ing to Mr. Huddleston. In win-
ning the event she was at one
time'matched against her bro-
ther.
Ralph and Charles Davis
spent the week end with their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Da-
vis.

The Junior class ot tne' Pres-
byterian Sunday School were
entertained at the church Wed-
nesday afternoon with a party
by the teacher.
A refreshment course of fruit
ambrosia and cakes was served
to the following: Jolynda Ers-

Paul Mitchell, Billy Corbin, Ma-
ry Evelyn and Rachel Davis,
Lometa Henley, John Marshall
