Around the Diocese
Liturgical conference to be held
The Rev. Raymond Kemp, presi-
dent of the North American Forum on
the Catechumenate will be the keynote
speaker for the 25th annual convention
of the Southwest Liturgical Con-
ference.
Father Kemp’s address,
“Sacraments of Initiation: the Rite
Connection,” is the focus of the silver
jubilee study week, hosted by the
Diocese of Beaumont, from Jan.
19-22, at the Beaumont Plaza Holiday
Inn. The four day conference will con-
centrate not only on the processes of
the Rite of Christian Initiation of
Adults (RCIA), but will go beyond
RCIA since the Sacraments of Initia-
tion --Baptism, Confirmation and the
Eucharist — are celebrated in other
contexts as well. The study week will
be of particular interest to catechists,
directors of religious education.
