Accelerated Spanish classes
The dates for the '.ext levels of the accelerated Spanish
classes arc Level IV: July 2-6. Classes are held from 9 a.m,

Loving couples wanted
There will be a Sponsor Couple Training Workshop held
at Sacred Heart Church in Simon on July 15, from 1 to 5
p.m. A couple who is trained as a Sponsor Couple will be
able to help their parish in the preparation of couples for
the Sacrament of Marriage. One of the requirements of a
Sponsor Couple is that they be willing to give up some of
their love to others. Contact your pastor if you would like
to work in this very special ministry.
Summer festival
Our Lady of Guadalupe, Sarita, will hold their summer
festival Sunday, July 1, starting at 11 a.m. There will be
games, raffles, delicious food, music and a queen contest.
All are welcome.
Pilgrimage to Mexico
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, Portland, is sponsoring
a pilgrimage to Mexico City from Aug. 4 through August
9. The fee is $204.00 per person which includes all fees
(transportation, hotel, tours) except meals. Children un-

Texas State Aquarium
The official grand opening of the Texas State Aquarium
will be a family-style celebration July 6,7 and 8 on the
grounds of the new facility.
The July festivities mark the completion of the S31.5
million Jesse H. and Mary Gibbs Jones Gulf of Mexico
Exhibit Building, the first phase of a four-phase master
plan. Located on the southern-most tip of Corpus Chrisli
Beach, the Texas State Aquarium will focus on the plants
and animals indigenous to the Gulf of Mexico and Carib-

Founders Day
St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2233 Waldron Rd„ Flour
Bluff, will hold their Founders Day celebration Saturday,
June 30frorr, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. There wilt be a chicken and
sausage dinner for S3.50 per plate, game booths, auction,
music, raffle and much more.

The Knights of Columbus Council #1202 will hold its
annual Chicken Dinner with all the trimmings Sunday,

Deadline for RCIA workshop
The deadline to preregister for the "Beginnings and
Beyond” Institute for Christian Initiation of Adults is
Thursday, July 19. Until that date, the deposit to register
is $ 15, after that date it is S30. The workshop, sponsored
by the Office of Worship of the Diocese of Corpus Christi
and the North American Forum on the Catechumenate,
will beheld Aug. 19-Aug. 24 at the Bishop Drury Retreat

Scholarship Fund to 7th grader John Dimas of
