MESQUITE, TEXAS
Billy Lumley and Lem Cunning-
ham went on a quail hunt near Can-
ton this week.
This was the first time Bennett
and Porter have been in their home
together since September 22, 1941.
Mrs. G. L. Griffin and sons, Billy
and John will leave in a few days to
make their home in Port Arthur
where Mr. Griffin is employed.
The Rylie Home Demonstration
Club reports a fair return from the
sale of war bonds at the family par-
ty Friday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Briley and son,
Bernarr, have moved into their
house formerly occupied by Mr. and
Mrs. Buck Rickman, which they
purchased from Mrs. Dorsey Witty.
J. L. Myrick, manager of the Eu-
gene B. Smith farms on East Fork,
and Mrs. Myrick and their daughter,
Jo Ann, S years old, are old timers
in the community now. The Myricks
lived in the house, formerly known
as the Caldwell place. They came to
Mesquite from Bridgeport, where Mr.
Myrick taught vocational agricul-
ture for seven years.

the home of Mrs. R. L. Coats.
Rev. E. F. McGaughy attended the
Grand Lodge at Waco, Wednesday
and Thursday as a representative of
the Mesquite lodge.
Miss Doris McGaughy will be
of the special soloists with the
Trinity Choir in San Antonio, sing-
ing Handel’s “Messiah”.
The attractive little house owned
by Miss Lois Tucker and located in
Tripp was sold recently to Raymond
Lewis of Mesquite. Miss Tucker has
lived for the past two years in Dal-
las with her parents Mr. and Mrs.
Wesley Tucker.
