He remarked that he might be
a “30 year man,” which means
in civilian terms that he might
sign up for 30 more years hi the
Marine Corps. He also is thinking
about asking to go back to the
Pacific, since “there’s nothing else
to do.” . *
The “daisy-cutters” as the Ma-
rines call the J^tp bombs, which
drop in groups and spread out
when they fall are the most dan
ge*rous things that the enemy us-
ed. in Jimmy’s opinion. “And don’t
ever let .any one tell you that you
can hear a bomb whistle as it
- falls: it makes sort of A-sucking
