beginning at 8 a.m., while
the field show will be held
at Harlandale Memorial
Stadium on Friday night at
8 p.rn.
An awards concert is
scheduled on Saturday,
April 16, at 8 p.m. at
Laurie Auditorium and will
feature the Texas Tech
Jazz Ensemble and the
Liberty High and Drum
Corps, Highland Dancers
and Herald Trumpets.
Tickets are $4 at the
gate or $2 pre-sale from
Dacbert music co. or any
participating high school or
middle school band.

More than 4,000 high
school musicians from as
far away as Pennsylvania}
will come to San Antonio,
April 14 - 16, for the fifth
annual Alamo Tournament
of Bands.
Consisting of more than
65 concert, jazz, and field
show performances, the
A.T.O.B. will feature ten
out-of-town bands and
nearly two dozen groups of
local high and middle
school instrumentalists.

Regency Hotel Dallas, June
11 at 7:30 p.nr.
Contestants age 13 to 26
will be corrtpetitmg for
titles, awards, scholarships
and gifts. Contestants are
judged on talent, evening
gown, judges interview, and
for ages 18 to 26 swim
wear.
We will be crowning a
Miss Black Texas Teen,
Miss Black Texas State,
and Miss Hospitality 1988.
Scholarships are available
to or contestants and
winners from various
colleges and universities
throughout Texas. These
scholarships range from 1
to 4 years of college

making her debut as a Broadway
choreographer in the play, Car-
rie, said she recently met with
Bill Cosby who is the series’ crea-
tor. “I know Cosby of course, and
he’s aware of my ability as a direc-
tor and producer. This came about,
in part, because they would like
someone in that situation who has
had a life experience with what
the show is about, as well as an ar-
tistic eye to develop it,” she said.
