A Powerful New Voice
Una Moore sings 'em the way they
used to. Remember some of those
classics by Gladys KnighL Aretha
Franklin, and Billie Holiday, when
strong soulful ballads touched the
heart? Well, thisyoung lady definitely
has soul. The most potent track on this
self-titled album is Moore's sensual
remake of the Etta James' classic "At
1 -ast", which you'll love as much as
the original.
On "Never Gonna Let You Go,"
the current single, and "All I Can Do,"
Moore offers a strong female persona, not the whiney "Please Don't Leave Me,
Baby" that populates so much of R&B. "Tell Me How You Like To Be Done"
and "Waiting' are also strong, soulful ballads. Add this album to your
collection, it's perfect for that cold winter evening in front of the fireplace.
