A Dallas girl was officially installed
as National Youth of the Year by
President Bill Clinton in ceremonies
in the Oval Office. LaWanda Jones
will represent the Boys & Girls Club
uf America oyer the next year.
Representing the Southwest Re-
gion, she is a member of West Dallas
Boys and Girls Club where she has
been active in Keystone and Torch
Clubs and directed the Junior Staff
Development Program.
Her future ambition is to pursue a

will present a workshop seminar on
the HIV virus.

Citizens, being a founding member of
the Eastside Consortium-a group of
care givers and providers to the eld-
erly, and an active member of the
Alamo City Lions' Club.

holds annual ball
Chi Eta Phi Sorority's local Theta
Eta chapter will hold their 10th anni-
versary event at the Holiday Inn
Northwest at 1 -10 and 410 on Satur-
day, Dec. 3.
The annual scholarship fundraiser
ball will be from 7-10 p. m.
"Your presence and contribution
will be used to further the profes-
sional nursing education of students
who have competed in our local
scholarship competition," a spokes-
person for the sorority said.
