Credited with opening many doors
forBIack entertainers. Gregory found
comedy an expedient avenue for
getting people's attention, to make
them think as well as laugh. An
act, (he latere stopped smoking),
Gregory became a household name
in the 60’s for his outspoken and
provocative humor. But once he
achieved success in the world of en-
tertainment, Gregory shifted gears,
and used his talents to help causes he
knew needed help.
His efforts have hadacost-Gregory
was virtually barred from entertain-
ment and he has been jailed numer-
ous times for his part in demonstra-
tions.
An innovator, Gregory taught
himself the basics of nutrition to lose
his excess pounds. After years of
work, research, and development, he
later marketed "The Bahamian Diet”
