Si. Mary s famed bus, “ 1 he Blue Goose,” was a sight familiar to San Antonio in the hey-days of
the far-travelled and much-publicized Rattlers. Before being drafted for war work in 1942, “The
Blue Goose” hauled St. Mary’s football and basketball teams more than 30,000 miles on trips that
included San Francisco, New York, North Dakota and New Hampshire.

Franza lend a note of encouragement during a rehearsal of “Romeo at Joliet,” a production of the
Cameo Players.
