Red Cross rewards
Gordon's heroism
As a Red Cross water safety in-
structor and lifeguard, Steve Gordon
has made a career out of putting the
lives of others before his own.
On Sept 20,1995, Gordon's quick
thinking and skill saved three young
girls who were in imminent danger
of drowning in a swollen Salado
Creek.
In honor Gordon's selfless act of
courage, the San Antonio Red Cross
awarded Gordon the Certificate of
Merit for selfless and and humane
action in saving a life during its an-
nual meeting last month. This is the
highest award given by the American
Red Cross for individuals or teams-

Restored Masterpiece
To the naked eye, it was just
another run-down house on
the Eastside, but to Jo Long
it was a historical master-
piece that deserved to be
brought back to its original
splendor and glory. So she
talked to her CaminoReal
banker-who also saw the
beauty and potential in the
old house. CaminoReal
Bank provided the interim
and permanent financing for
the rehabilitation of the
historical house, and Jo
Long has the home of her
dreams. CaminoReal Bank.
