Beaumont Texas December 3 At Sa-
bine Pass Tuesday the directors of tho
Sabine liind and Improvement company
will hold their annual mcotlrfg Ordinarily
this meeting fcvould not be of unusual Im-
portance In Beaumont It Is generally
known that Improvement of the company s
property at Sabine rasa Is to be continued
possibly on a more extensive scale and It
it but natural that the directors ohouM
make provision for a continuation of this
policy But at the meeting Tuesday di-
rectors of the Snblno Land and Improve-
ment company will doubtless determtno the
point towhlch tho Sabino Pafls Tevmlnal
railroad will bo built aud Beaumont is
Vitally Interested In their decision
At present they have Beaumont and
Houston both In view and so tar as natural
conditions aro concerned tho cities stand an
equal show Houston la tho larger city and
has more trunk railroads and more actual
business but Beaumont Is nearer by fifty
miles has a promising future and roulO
bo reached without tho expense of costly
bridges over naylgablo streams Houston
wants this railroad however and Is mak-
ing efforts to secure it Beaumont needs It
nnd Tho Post correspondent is of tho Im-
pression tbat the proper effort on the part
of this city will secure It
